Alloy 42 (UNS K94100) is an iron nickel ingot expansion alloy widely used in the electric vacuum industry.
The heat treatment of Alloy 42 (UNS K94100) includes stress relief annealing for machined parts, intermediate annealing for work hardening during cold rolling, cold drawing, and cold stamping processes, and pre oxidation treatment of the material before use as a sealing material.
It has good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, fresh water, and seawater. The processing performance is similar to that of stainless steel.
Alloy 42 (UNS K94100) is mainly used for sealing with soft glass, ceramics, etc., making electronic tubes, transistors, and integrated circuit leads, frames, and sealed plugs.
