254SMO/UNS S31254 hexagonal bar is a super austenitic stainless steel (also known as 6-molybdenum steel), which is reinforced with high molybdenum (6%), high chromium, high nickel, and nitrogen, and has extremely strong resistance to chloride ion corrosion, high strength, and high toughness. It is the first choice for fasteners/structural components under harsh working conditions. Common grades include: 254SMO, UNS S31254, EN 1.4547, F44, 00Cr20Ni18Mo6CuN.
254SMO size and specifications:
Conventional range: S=8-80mm, customizable up to 100mm; Length: 100-6000mm, customizable for cutting to length/rough cutting. Surface: Black skin (hot-rolled), shiny (cold drawn/ground), polished. Tolerance: cold drawn h8/h9; Hot rolled H11; Can be customized according to ISO 286 or ASTM.
254SMO processing and application:
Heat treatment: Solid solution 1120-1180 ℃ water cooling, non age hardening; Cold working: high hardening rate, requiring multiple passes and intermediate annealing; Low speed, high feed, hard alloy cutting tools for cutting. Welding: ERNiCrMo-3 (welding wire)/ENiCrMo-3 (welding rod) is recommended; Can be applied to high-pressure pumps/valves for seawater desalination, underwater fasteners, offshore platform bolts, and deep-sea ROV structural components. Chemical and petrochemical industries, environmental protection and energy, high-end fasteners, etc.
