MIL-S-46850D C250 (commonly known as C250/18Ni250) is an 18% nickel based martensitic aging steel specified by the US military standard. It is known for its ultra-high strength, high toughness, excellent weldability, and dimensional stability, and is widely used in aerospace, military, high-end mold and other fields.
Key heat treatment processes for C250/18Ni250:
Solution treatment: 815-845 ° C, insulation for 1 hour/25mm, air/oil cooling, to obtain low-carbon martensite with a hardness of approximately HRC 28-32.
Time treatment: 480-510 ° C, insulation for 3-6 hours, air cooling. The precipitation of strengthening phase significantly increases the strength, while the toughness slightly decreases.
